Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent small saw I've had this saw for 4 years and couldn't ask for a better, more reliable piece of equipment. I've cut larger trees than it is intended to, but if you don't force the saw it will cut its way through no problem. I cut 5 to 6 cord of firewood a year and this saw has never had an issue. Always starts and and still has plenty of years left in it. Trust me buy Stihl saws. They are built to last if you maintain them properly and are worth the little bit extra they cost. Love my Stihl products. July 1, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Pull, Pull, Pull Without a doubt, this is the MOST difficult power tool to start that I have ever owned. All my other Stihl products, trimmer, pole saw start easily but not this boy. By the time I get it started, I am too worn out from pulling that I am unable to use it. Had to three different shops plus dealer's service, use premixed fuel, and replaced pull cord three times. It is light which makes carrying back and forth to the shop easy to do. June 30, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Automatic oiler does not work I have been using power tools all my life. Never have I had as unsatisfactory experience with one as I had with this one. Bought it Nov 2012 - had to return it to the shop for repairs four times before March. The problem was always the automatic oiler not working. Finally I traded it in for the 251 model. I'll review that model next (hint: no improvement in my experience) June 24, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by My third review Since this is my third review only due to the face Stihl will not publish the first two, here goes.I have spent double on this saw to get it to run with no luck. Has run one hour since new. it is now three years old.I do not recommend this saw to anyone but if you must it's your money. June 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by It's a Stihl. What's left to say..... This is my 2nd Stihl chainsaw having sold my 036 when I sold the farm. This smaller saw starts easy, it is reliable, powerful for its size, and just a joy to have and to own. The only problem with it is that it has cut its way through all available projects. Looking for more to do. A nice addition to my Stihl stable including a KM135 Kombi motor and all the attachments. Love to pull the starter handle of a Stihl product. You KNOW it is going to start easy, idle reliably and run strong season after season. June 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by All the saw I'll every need I consider myself an intermediate user having taken down several trees on my properties over the years. I got tired of all of the "value" saws just cracking or burning out. I had a 70 ft oak tree come down in my yard and this was the time. My local dealer went through all of the options for me and this saw was perfect! I took this bad boy of a tree down in just a few hours. The power was perfect for large and small cuts a like. The safety features made me feel safe yet they didn't make the saw too heavy to use. I love this saw and I'm a Stihl guy for life!! (not to mention the envy of the neighborhood.) June 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great saw. I bought this saw as a back up saw for my work in Finland.Ended up using this on a dayly basis.great for brush clearing and felling moderate size trees.was really suprised about the power of this lil machine.bigger blade and chain option would be a great Ad-on. Rated 4 out of 5 by The Perfect Homestead Saw I have a small homestead in SE Missouri and this saw is the perfect tool for me. It's light enough to be used from a ladder when pruning trees, reliable and powerful enough to maintain a firewood pile for the woodstove, and easy enough to start that my wife can clear branches that fall across the road during our big spring storms even when I'm away on business.
